Brawl Stars counters: who beats who, and why

A counter is not just a name on a list. It is a concrete plan: a range advantage, a stun, a wall break or a burst window that turns a fight in your favour.

Class matchups are the baseline

Assassins delete squishy long-range damage dealers. Sharpshooters punish slow tanks in open maps. Tanks eat assassins alive when they can close distance. Throwers dominate walled maps but fall apart in the open. Controllers and supports shift fights that are otherwise even.

The kit decides the matchup

Two assassins do not counter the same targets. A stun gadget lets you commit onto a brawler with no escape; a reload-speed star power wins a poke war; a wall-breaking super removes the cover a thrower depends on. BrawlBetter names the specific tool you should use against each enemy pick.

Counters are map-dependent

The same matchup flips between an open map and a walled one. That is why raw tier lists mislead: a brawler can be top tier overall and a poor pick on the map you are actually playing. Win rates measured per map and mode are far more useful.

Do not forget the counter-counter

Picking the hard counter early tells the enemy exactly what to do. Before you lock it, check what still counters you. The draft tool shows both sides: what your pick answers, and what answers your pick.

Put it into practice: scan your next draft and get the pick in seconds.
